Sue Hancock has worked in the ACT education system over the last 15 years in the area of special education. Currently a Student Access and Success Officer (SASO) in the Office of Access and Inclusion (A&I) at The Australian National University (ANU) providing professional support and advice for students with a disability and equity groups. Sue also runs a strengths-based training program for students “Strengths4Success” designed to support students through increased self-awareness and self-confidence. During her time with the ANU the A&I team were finalists in the 2013 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards for Inclusion in Education and Training and the same year the team also received the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Innovation and Excellence in Service. Sue was a member of the project steering committee producing the resource “How to Transition to Tertiary Education – Helpful Hints for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder”.
